Greg Mathys's Avenger

Greg can be reached at gmathys@urec.net if you have any questions for him.  The following information was provided to the Fishnet by Greg on 2/8/01...

I bought the standard kit # 00146 from Mike Fisher in 1997. It took a little less than a year to complete with 760 hrs invested. The only modifications were to take advantage of the extra space behind the cockpit. I added an extra 5gal fuel tank ( to make it a 10 gal fuel capacity ) and also I finished off the turtledeck to make some storage space. I opted to go with a 44hp Hirth 2704 engine and a 72" Tennessee propeller rather than the 503 Rotax. I have basic instruments and added dual EGT and CHT's. Also use a handheld GPS and radio.

Finished empty weight ended up at 365lbs. Take of ground roll is 200ft. It climbs at an estimated 700 fpm. Stall speed is 33mph. Cruise is 65mph @ 4800 rpm's and up to 75mph with full throttle (5200 rpm's). Fuel burn is 3 - 3.5 gph giving it a 2.5 hr range.

I enjoyed every minute of the construction time and currently have 150 hrs logged in the air.

I included info that I thought may answer a lot of questions. If you need something else beside what is here feel free to ask. I forget what pictures sent you before so I sent more.
