It was build during 1989 to 1990. It's powered by an Rotax447 and a two-blade
Helix-propeller. I bought it in 2001. Modifications: changed to a new style
gear with brakes in 2002. Otherwise the Koala is build to the original plans
(I hope).
When weather permits, I often use thermals to gain altitude and then "gliding
along" with the engine doing 4000 Rev/min for hours. Conserves fuel!
Flying is fun, however, the landings on our short airfield are not easy, when
there's a significant crosswind. My PA-11 J3 experience helps a lot...
