Keith Adam's Super Koala

A recent addition to the Fisher/FFP fleet, Keith reports:
"After flying with the Rotax 582 for 60hrs, it was removed and replaced with
a "0" time Cont. A-65-8. Performance with Cont is outstanding.
Airspeed
went from 60kts to 70kts and fuel consumption was cut in half. The plane
came in empty at 620lbs. With 20 gals of fuel and burning only 4gph, its a
great cross country bird. I have nearly 40hrs on the new engine and its
running great. Mechanical brakes were replaced with Matco Hyd's and full
size aircraft tires along with a full size aircraft tailwheel. Running a
new Hegy wood prop"
Happy Landings.

This one received it airworthiness on Mar 2, 2000 and flew the next day. After some minor adjusting on the Horz. Stab rigging she's been flying hands off ever since.
It's powered by a 582 and a WarpDrive Ground adjustable 3-blade. The combination work pretty well together although I was hoping for a slightly faster cruise speed. I fly between 5800 -6000 on the tach and that produces about a 65 knot indicated airspeed. Gps shows anywhere from 70 to 85 mph ground speed depending on the wind.
I added the Dakata Hawk wing tanks to bring total fuel up to about 26 gallons. It's a single seater with full fuel but hauls a 50 pound back pack full of camping gear just fine.
I took the Alexander Sport Air Workshop from Poly-Fiber to learn how to use their product in the "Stits" finishing process. It's ribbed laced and painted with Poly Fiber Poly Tone paint.
